Friends of the West Windsor Library

Friends of the West Windsor Library, a non-profit group founded in 1981, works to supplement the materials and services Mercer County provides to patrons of the Library. Funds raised by the Friends have enabled us to make increasingly significant contributions to the Library’s ability to serve our diverse and growing community.

Our major fundraising event is the Annual Spring Book Sale, at which hundreds of books, as well as CDs, videos, and other materials, are available. We also hold a smaller book sale in November, just in time for holiday shopping.

Funds raised are used in many ways, including the purchase of additional DVDs, foreign language materials, and books on tape and CDs. Also funded annually are the Children’s Summer Reading Program; story, drama and craft programs for children (including preschoolers); and Sunday programs for adults and children.

Friends also purchased draperies for the big meeting room, making it possible to show slides and movies. A make-over in the Children’s Activity Room includes new tables and chairs and hand-painted designs on the walls.
